TOAST is seeking a creative-minded, passionate and dynamic Mid-Senior Brand Strategist
& Copywriter to join our team!

Working directly with our Head of Strategy, you will help to create the compelling strategic
foundations for our brands and bring them to life through masterful brand and marketing
campaigns. This role offers the successful candidate a chance to become an integral
component of an agile, global, award-winning strategic brand agency.

The Role:

The Brand Strategist & Copywriter is heavily involved within the Research, Strategy &
Marketing phases of TOAST’s brand-making process.

Based on the brief, you will perform relevant market research and data analysis to identify
Australian consumer trends and global market developments, whilst undertaking full brand
audits of our clients and their key competitors. You will be closely involved in the project
management and critical preparation of pitches, brand interviews and client workshops.

The Brand Strategist & Copywriter will also assist in creating copy for key marketing
collateral based on each client’s unique scope of work. This may include copy for brochures, websites and EDMs, as well as general copywriting/copyediting guidance across all stages of our agency’s processes. This includes content planning and copywriting for key Social Media accounts, both client-side and internal.

Internal Responsibilities:

In addition to external-facing work, this role will take charge of TOAST’s internal marketing
and social media channels, ensuring our brand’s online presence is consistently engaging
and aligned with our values and strategic vision. You will be responsible for content planning, copywriting and managing the team’s social media design output and executing
content strategies.

You will also lead internal project management, overseeing the workflow and execution of
TOAST's internal initiatives, ensuring all creative projects are completed on time and meet
high-quality standards.

This is a permanent, full-time position, with the primary place of work being TOAST’s office in Potts Point, NSW, 2011.

Flexible/hybrid work arrangements are also available for 2 days per week.

About you:

TOAST is seeking a switched-on, organised and hard-working candidate with the ability to thrive in an agile environment. Creative and out-of-the-box critical thinking is a must, as is the ability to translate big ideas into tangible executions through clearly defined plans of action, excellent Australian copywriting skills and proactive management of priorities.

Requirements and key qualities of a prospective TOAST candidate:

- Strong professional communication skills, both written (copywriting and general communication) and verbal (collaborating and presenting)


- Dynamic thinker and operator, with ability to work as part of an agile, fast-moving team as well as showcase a strong independent work ethic

- A captivating story-teller, yet also an active listener and sharp analyser; able to ask the right questions and identify the most important insights and findings unique to a client’s scope

- Passionate and full of ideas, yet empathic and able to understand other people’s perspectives

- Confident in abilities, but humble and always looking to learn

- Critical-thinker, constructively questioning the way that the world, organisations and people operate

- Highly adept at brainstorming and crafting creative ideas, with ability to support ideas with hard evidence and justification

- Firm believer in the value of brand and design

- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing or Business Entrepreneurship

- At least 3 years’ prior experience in a strategist, consultant, marketing coordinator, or copywriting role

- Previous agency experience is advantageous, but not mandatory
