Toast Creative takes gold and silver at Sydney Design Awards

Toast Creative has received Gold and Silver Awards at the 2017 Sydney Design Awards, held overnight in Sydney.

The agency received a Gold Award in the Government Service category for our Juror campaign on behalf of the Department of Justice, meanwhile The Freedom Partnership campaign for The Salvation Army claimed a Silver Award in the Community Service category.

“We’re delighted to be recognised alongside the biggest names in the industry. However, what makes this award really special are the campaigns themselves. We pride ourselves on doing meaningful work and, in the cases of both award-winning campaigns, we’re helping important organisations change lives.” - Nicholas Sammut, MD.

Toast created the overall design for the Department of Justice’s online portal, mobile application and management system for jurors and potential jurors, known as Juror. Toast worked collaboratively with Gerry Gaffney to completely transform the User Experience (UX) and foster a renewed sense of pride and civic duty in jurors.

“Juror was one of the first digital UX updates undertaken for Service NSW. Our solution looked at a wide range of demographics and catered for all aspects of the juror journey, from notification, to checking in, to going into the courtroom,”- Nicholas Sammut, MD.

The Freedom Partnership campaign saw The Salvation Army employ Toast Creative to raise public awareness and empower to thousands affected by modern day slavery within Australia. In addition to a physical installation in Sydney, a social media campaign was implemented using an animated project video EDM, which prompted Australians to action both by ‘Making The Pledge’ and ‘Joining The Chain of Good’.

“We feel blessed that we can win awards based on high level, socially important projects. It’s testament to the team’s passion, collaboration and effort, and our evolving list of clients. The last twelve months have been transformative for Toast Creative, seeing us bring on a new business partner, Emile Rastoll, complete our creative collective, The Muse, and further define our environment, client base and team. We look forward to what we can achieve in 2017 and beyond.” - Nicholas Sammut, MD.
